I'm an A-Level physics teacher. In my opinion independent learning is the key to success so I focus a lot of effort into making resources to help students learn physics independently. A lot of what I make is available for free on YouTube. My website has links to everything. I'm starting to offer my free downloads on https://wonkylogic.co/a-level-physics-hq which does not require a log in to download.

Assessment Tracker Spreadsheet | Analyse Grades and Track Progress

(0)
A Numbers¹ spreadsheet that provides teachers with an attractive interface to record, analyse and track progress in students’ grades. Capable of tracking results for up to three classes in the same subject (and can be edited to extend for more classes). Per assessment scores can be recorded from two separate sections independently if desired. Grade boundaries are set per assessment in the designated table. Graphs show % scores in 5% range categories and the grade distribution. A bubble graph helps to visualise if top scorers / low scorers had notable strengths or weaknesses in section A or B of the exam. In the main table achieved grades are compared with target grades and class average deviation from targets are also computed. There is also a bubble chart that can cycle through the assessments which makes it easy for the teacher to click through the assessments and see if there are any notable trends - it is also simple to present the chart to a class to discuss exam performance (my students love this). The Tracking Sheet imports results from the individual test Sheets. On this Sheet you can optionally use weighted percentages for the assessments (e.g. give more challenging assessments higher weighting to account for the difference or give more recent assessments higher weightings to emphasise recent progress). Overall performance is illustrated on the Tracking Sheet with target grade comparisons and distribution graphs. ¹ Numbers is spreadsheet software made by Apple, it opens with the Numbers app available for free with most recent iPhone / iPad / Mac devices also available with a free Apple ID for use in most web browsers.

UMS Grade Boundary Spreadsheet

**This is a free Numbers¹ spreadsheet to help teachers having to set multiple assessments for their students some of which are used to calculate a centre assessed grade. ** You can download this for free and without an account here The spreadsheet accomplishes the following tasks: Ensures consistency among multiple assessments each with unique numbers of raw marks and requiring their own unique grade boundaries. Very easy grade boundary adjustment by use of stepper cells. Selects the top three UMS scores from the assessments and calculates an average UMS score. Gives immediate feedback on the UMS and grade distributions to aid teachers adjusting grade boundaries for a specific distribution outcome (usually close to a normal distribution). Gives automatic statistical feedback using a t test and chi squared test to enable teachers to quickly compare their cohort’s performance to exam results of a previous cohort (to facilitate consistency if required). Adding benchmark data is optional. There are some brief instructions written into the Overview sheet and Paper 1 sheet to enable you to get started quickly. This version supports up to 50 students, six assessments (papers), it selects the top three results. If you’re comfortable making changes to formulae you are welcome to do so. If you do make changes you are free to give away your changed version but not for sale. If I can I will produce a tutorial video. If you’d like to request a feature change or spot any errors contact me via my website wonkylogic.co. Also available for free here ¹ Numbers is spreadsheet software made by Apple. It runs on Macs, iPads, iPhones and most web browsers (if you have a free Apple ID). It may be possible to export this to an Excel workbook but I couldn’t guarantee a fully functioning output. If I have time I will export it and ensure it all works - but no guarantees on that I’m afraid. Updated 28 April - additional guidance notes on use of t-test and Chi Squared test
